Páez was a very prolific painter of the generation following Miguel Cabrera, who executed excellent portraits and casta paintings, as well as reliogious compositions that range in size from tiny nuns´badges to enormous canvases covering entire walls. Since his works are scattered in churches throughout Mexico and as far as Peru, it would appear that his Mexico City atelier exported much of its production.
