Originating from the Mexican Provincial regio of Queretaro, he must have been born in 1905, since in 1925 he was 20 years in old. He was one of the few child painters to blossom with his own style after a formative beginning in the Open Air Schools of Painting, as a pupil of Alfredo Ramos Martínez in the Churubusco branch. There, Martínez must have received training that enabled him to experiment with the models of immediate reality and at the same time a not insignificant education in drawing, which although no adhering to academic principles, was one that enabled him to execute compositions much more complex than the average ones of the child painters. His work was exhibited in Berlin, Paris and Madrid as a part of the representative collection of Mexican modern art sent to Europe in 1925-1926. Like other children, he dissapeared from the art scene when the free schools ended in 1934.
